Islamic prayer for healing from disease
The Prophet transmitted to us supplications to be said when one is tried by an illness in order to alleviate (to reduce or ease) it, while believing that illness and healing are both by the will of God. Here are some Islamic Prayer for healing from disease:
What to say when you are sick?
When he fell ill, our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam said:
( اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ البَأْسَ، اِشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِـي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاءُكَ )
(Allahoumma Rabba n-nas; ‘adh-hibi l-ba’s;’ ichfi ‘anta ch-chafi; la chifa’a’ il-la chifa’ouk)
Which means: “O Allah, remove evil; give healing, You are the healer; there is no healing except the healing that You give “.
What to say when you feel pain?
I put my hand on the painful part of my body and I say:
باِسْمِ اللهِ، بِاسْمِ اللهِ، بِاسْمِ اللهِ
(bismi l-Lah, bismi l-Lah, bismi l-Lah)
Which means: “I quote the name of Allah, I quote the name of Allah, I quote the name of Allah” by seeking His blessings and asking for His help.
Then I say:
أعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ ما أجِدُ وأُحاذِرُ
(‘a^oudhou bi^izzati l-Lahi waqoudratihi min charri ma ‘ajidou wa‘ouhadhir)
Which means: “I seek the preservation by the glory of Allah and His almightiness, against the evil of what I feel and what I apprehend”.

What to say to a patient you visit?
When visiting a sick person, it is advisable to say:
أسألُ اللهَ العظيمَ ربَّ العرشِ العظيمِ أنْ يشفيَك
(‘as’alou l-Laha l-^Adhim, Rabba l-^archi l-^adhim ‘an yachfiyak)
Which means: “I ask Allah, the High One, the Lord of the High Throne to grant you healing. ” 7 times.
